A 30-year-old transient woman who refused to leave the 7-Eleven at 1305 Herndon Avenue was arrested early Friday for several outstanding warrants.
A store clerk called Ceres Police at 1:23 a.m., regarding the trespassing of Brittany Jones who was seated in an isle, nodding off and refusing to leave after being asked several times. When officers arrived, they found Jones outside of the store. She began walking backwards away from officers and then ran from them. She was arrested after a short foot pursuit. Police learned that Jones was wanted for several outstanding warrants that included a felony warrant. Warrants included resisting arrest and failure to appear in Solano County and Redding.
Jones was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for the warrants and a new charge of delaying an officer in the performance of duties.
