A 42-year-old Tuolumne resident was arrested in a Ceres traffic stop on Tuesday evening, July 18 because he had three felony arrest warrants for grand theft and vehicle theft charges.

At 11:37 p.m., Officer Samuel Garcia was on patrol in the area of Whitmore Avenue and Sixth Street when he observed the driver of a blue Toyota Corolla violate the vehicle code. The officer quickly learned that Steven Murphy was wanted and made an arrest, taking him to the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for booking.
