A Tuesday evening, Oct. 15 vehicle stop for vehicle code violations ended in the arrest of a Turlock man for driving while intoxicated.

At 11:50 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Tyler Wilson was patrolling the area of Hatch and Moffett roads when he stopped a Geronimo Borrelo, 34, of Turlock who was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup for vehicle code violations. When Officer Wilson made contact with the driver he quickly suspected him of being under the influence of alcohol which started a DUI investigation. Officer Angel Murillo gave in a series of field sobriety tests which Borrelo completed in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol.

Borrelo was arrested and provided a breath sample that showed he was over double the legal limit of alcohol to drive. Borrelo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI.
