An 18-year-old La Grange and his juvenile passenger were arrested during an early Sunday vehicle stop in which ammunition and a “ghost” gun rifle were discovered.

Officer David Whiteside was patrolling the area of Richland Avenue and Hatch Road at 12:59 a.m. when he pulled over the driver of an Infiniti G35 for vehicle code violations. The officer observed live rounds of rifle ammunition in the cup holder in the center console and removed driver Romeo Dominguez, 18, of La Grange, and his juvenile passenger from the car to conduct a search. On the passenger floorboard officers located a short-barreled rifle, a 7.62 caliber un-serialized “ghost” gun.

Both occupants were arrested for possession of the ghost gun. Due to being a minor, the juvenile had additional charges of possessing the rifle.

Dominguez was also booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on an additional charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The juvenile was booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall.
