A 40-year-old Modesto man went to jail Christmas Eve after he was picked up by a Ceres Police officer for a warrant.

At 9:29 p.m., Officer Kevin Gallenkamp was patrolling the area of Mitchell Road and Whitmore Avenue when he observed Steven Montelongo, 40, commit a vehicle code violation in his Honda Accord. After obtaining the driver’s ID and running a records check, Officer Gallenkamp learned that Montelongo had a felony warrant for his arrest related to a prior assault. Montelongo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
