An early Sunday morning two-vehicle crash resulted in the arrest of a Waterford woman accused of driving while intoxicated.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. in intersection of Hatch and Mitchell roads and involved a Chevrolet Avalanche and a Toyota Camry.

Ceres Police Officer Angel Murillo arrived on scene and contacted driver Azucena Preciado who had three juvenile passengers in her Chevy. One of the minors was injured. The officer believed Preciado appeared to be under the influence of alcohol which prompted a DUI investigation.

After undergoing field sobriety tests, Preciado was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples over the legal limit.

Preciado was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI causing injury and child abuse.
