A 21-year-old Modesto woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated during an early Saturday traffic stop for code violations.

Kalina Barrientez, 21, of Modesto was pulled over in her Toyota Highlander at 1:40 a.m. by Sgt. Aaron Pinon in the area of Whitmore Avenue and Baldwin Road. Sgt. Pinon smelled alcohol on Barrientez and started a DUI investigation which led to her arrest.

Barrientez was arrested for DUI and provided a breath sample that showed that she was over double the legal limit for an adult to have while driving. Barrientez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
