A Sunday evening traffic stop made by a Ceres Police officer in downtown Ceres took a suspected drunken driver off the streets.

At 9:40 p.m., Officer Charles Lord-Huff was patrolling the area of Ninth Street near the southbound Highway 99 onramp when he stopped the driver of a Toyota Camry for vehicle code violations. Officer Lord-Huff contacted driver Claudia Cisneros Aguilar, 33, of Modesto and immediately suspected that she was intoxicated. She underwent a series of field sobriety tests which were performed in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol.

Aguilar was arrested for DUI and provided an evidentiary breath sample which showed she had alcohol content over double the legal limit. She was booked into the county jail for DUI.
