A 42-year-old woman from Modesto was arrested Friday afternoon after she was stopped by Ceres Police driving a stolen vehicle.

Ceres Police Officer Ian Perry was patrolling the area of Mitchell and Hatch roads at 4:32 p.m. when he observed a red-colored Ford Crown Victoria reported as stolen. Officer Perry caught up to the car which pulled into the Voyagers Cove Mobile Home Park at 2845 Hatch Road. Driver Gina Lugo, 42, of Modesto was arrested. Officers detained and later released a passenger who was determined uninvolved in the theft.

Lugo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center where she was booked for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
