A 33-year-old woman from Stevinson was arrested on warrants by Ceres Police during a Tuesday, Nov. 21 traffic stop for vehicle code violations after she gave a fake name to officers.

Officer Aaron Pinon was patrolling the area of Hatch Road and Central Avenue at 1:13 p.m. when he stopped the driver of a white-colored Chevrolet Colorado. The driver, Jennifer Cruz, 33, of Stevinson, initially lied about her true identity, likely because of the warrants. During a records check, it was determined who Cruz was and that she had two felony warrants related to charges of possession of a firearm and assault with a deadly weapon. She was arrested on the warrants and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
