A seven-year-old Ceres boy who collided with a pickup as he rode on his bicycle on Friday evening was reportedly in stable condition at a local hospital.

The crash took place on Friday evening at approximately 6:56 p.m. in the 3300 block of Buenaventura Drive. The boy sustained moderate injuries.

Ceres Police say that the collision occurred when a white Chevrolet Silverado towing a small trailer was headed northbound on Buenaventura Drive. The child, who was also peddling northbound on the sidewalk, apparently did not look to the left when he attempted to cross into traffic and collided into the front of the pickup.

The boy was airlifted to a local hospital.

The driver of the pickup remained on the scene, fully cooperated with law enforcement, and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
