Ceres High School senior Jimenez honored by Rotarians

Yareli Jimenez (center) was honored Friday as the Ceres Rotary “Student of the Month.” Present were: (left to right), club President Paul Rutishauser, Ceres High School Learning Director Maribel Flores, and parents Nalleli Torres and Fabian Jimenez.

The Rotary Club of Ceres recognized senior Yareli Jimenez as a Rotary “Student of the Month” during its Friday noon meeting.

Ceres High School officials joined in the occasion to select her for being an excellent student who is kind, exhibits a contagious smile and is willing to help those around her.

Yareli has continuously challenged herself each year by taking a rigorous course load, including advanced courses and Advanced Placement classes. She has been involved in leadership over the last four years and is the Class of 2024 secretary. She is deemed a motivated “go-getter,” having participated in basketball during all four years of her high school experience and has learned to balance the demands of school, extracurricular activities and community service. Yareli is seen as a leader and role model to many and is well-liked by her peers, faculty and staff.

Yareli aspires to continue her education at U.C. Davis and pursue a career in nursing.
