An artist in Ceres and one in Hughson will be opening up their studios for public visits during this weekend’s Stanislaus Artist Open Studio event.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, artists will open 26 studio and home venues throughout the county. The public has a chance to meet the artists, see their creations, and buy some of their works of art.

Many of the artists teach classes, provide demonstrations, and have information on the art scene.

Nancy Burch will open up her home studio in northeast Ceres to show her abstract forms on a base of Styrofoam, assembled with tissue paper and white glue. She also creates digital paintings with Procreate.

In Hughson, Susan Bohbot will display her freelance photography and sell photos as gifts and cards with her photos.

The event is free with a free online map available at www.stanislausaos.com . Studios should be clearly marked with signs. Many studio locations are hosting multiple artists and will have lots of art on display and for sale. Some artists may be demonstrating, or have opportunities for you to try an activity. Most studios are kid-friendly. Some may have pets safely kept nearby.

Plan your trip in advance. Maps include contact information for participating artists for future reference.
