Local branches of the Stanislaus County Library have a number of activities for all ages scheduled in September including a Puffy Paint craft in Ceres and Talk Like A Pirate Day crafts in Keyes.
Ceres Library
The Ceres Library will offer free craft programs, activities, and a book club program in September.
Children may come paint with Puffy Paint on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m. Participants will paint 3-D art using special Puffy Paint. Children under the age of 4 are welcome to participate, however they must have direct parental supervision.
Wee Move and Play will be held on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays, Sept. 14 and 28 at 11:30 a.m. This program features unstructured playtime for toddlers and preschoolers, during which they can enjoy movement and sensory play.
All ages are invited to make Pokéballs out of paper on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 3:30 p.m. Lures will be added to the library's Pokéstop during the program in order to bring the Pokémon to the participants. Crafters can use this time to load up on Pokéballs, and share tips with fellow trainers.
The library will host a LEGO Day on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 3:30 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to build LEGO creations that will then be displayed in the library. Participants under the age of 4 must have direct parental supervision.
The Ceres Library Book Club will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11:30 a.m. This month's selection is The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez.The book club will meet monthly.
Ages 5 and up are invited to the Marble Magnets program on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 3:30 p.m. Crafters can use stickers, draw personalized designs, bring pictures or use provided images to create unique magnets.

Keyes Library
Events at the Keyes Library will begin with an elephant craft at 1 p.m. Sept. 14. After a reading of "I Took My Frog to the Library" by Eric Kimmel, children can make an elephant craft.
LEGO Day will be held at 3 p.m. Sept. 15. Children will have the opportunity to build LEGO displays for the library. LEGO play helps children develop fine motor skills. Children under 4 are welcome, but must have direct adult supervision.
Celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day at 3 p.m. Sept. 19 with fun activities. Each participant can make a pirate's hook, an eyepatch, and a pirate ship. Individuals can also play Pin the Eyepatch on the Pirate for a chance to win prizes.
The library's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Works will take place at 3 p.m. Sept. 22.
Tweens ages 9 and up can assemble electrical circuits and create electricity utilizing wind power.
