The Stanislaus County Library’s Summer Reading Challenge has concluded with a lot of participants engaged in reading and the Ceres Library giving away prizes.

Courtesy of the Friends of the Ceres Library, the local branch library gave out prizes to children and adults who logged their reading onto Beanstack from May 21 through Aug. 6. Readers earned virtual tickets for free prize drawings for items such as $50 gift cards for Walmart and Target, an Apple iPad and a Nintendo Switch, among other prizes.

Ceres participants up to age 18 who completed the Summer Reading Challenge by Aug. 6 were also entered into a drawing to win one of two bicycles provided by the Friends of the Ceres Library. Winning free bikes were Joshuah Michelena, 17, and Angela Yepez Pescador, 11.

Diego Mendoza won the drawing for the iPad.

Thanks to the Friends of the Ceres Library and other sponsors, all participants under age 18 also received a toy, as well as additional prizes, including a book, a Habit Burger Grill kids meal, Raising Cane’s kids meal, In-N-Out cheeseburger or bag.
