Ceres officer, canine perform well at trials

Ceres Police Officer Kevin Gallenkamp and his canine partner Fiona posted an outstanding performance at the 2025 Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department K9 Trials.

Officer Gallenkamp and Fiona were one of 25 teams participating in the event, which tested each team’s abilities in a variety of disciplines including obedience, agility, area searches, call-offs, recalls, and K9 apprehensions.

Gallenkamp and Fiona earned:

• 1st Place – Overall Patrol Category

• 2nd Place – Patrol Protection

• 2nd Place – Patrol Obedience

• 4th Place – Patrol Agility

• 5th Place – Patrol Search

In recognition of their high scores across all categories, Officer Gallenkamp and Fiona were honored with the prestigious “Top Dog Award,” presented to the highest-performing team in the county.

Gallenkamp’s dedication to training, both on and off duty, along with his professionalism and strong work ethic, is commendable, said Chief Trenton Johnson.
