Persons planning to participate at this year’s Trunk or Treat event by handing out candy and other goodies must register by Friday, Oct. 4.
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Whitmore Park in downtown Ceres.
Typically businesses, individuals, organizations, churches and civic groups sign up to hand out candy to the costumed kids who turn out. Each participant must provide a minimum of 1,800 pieces of sealed candy. All treats must be individually packaged and store bought so no homemade items.
Vendors who wish to sell products at the event may participate by purchasing a 10-foot by 10-foot booth space. The fee for food vendors is $100, $50 for arts and crafts sellers, and $25 for non-profit organizations. Food vendors must also pay an extra $50 for an environmental service fee unless they are already permitted by the Stanislaus County Public Health Department.
Those wishing to participate should call the Ceres Recreation Department at 209-538-5628 to request an application.
The event will also feature live music and games for the kids. Families are encouraged to come out in costume.
Hughson event on Halloween
The city of Hughson and Hughson Police Services is hosting its annual Trunk or Tent and Treat event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. Children and adults are encouraged to come to downtown’s Hughson Avenue dressed in costume.
