The third annual Free Community Disposal Day is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Ceres River Bluff Regional, 3761 E. Hatch Road.
The event will allow Ceres residents only to dispose of large household items like furniture, chairs and tables, E-waste, up to four mattresses and passenger and pickup tires without a charge. Only those Ceres utility customers who present their most recent utility bill and photo ID can participate.
The event will accept no more than one truckload per current utility bill and no vehicle loads larger than a pickup. No regular household garbage, hazardous waste, organic waste, concrete or demolition materials will be accepted.
E-waste items that may be disposed of include microwaves, cell phones, computers, servers, cables, keyboards, scanners, stereos, TVs and computer monitors, flat screen TVs, rear projection TVs and laptop computers.
Prohibited items include batteries, hazardous waste, ink cartridges, printers, copiers and fax machines.
A portion of disposal costs are being funded by the CalRecyle Waste Tire Amnesty Grant program.
