The firm of Eide Bailly, LLP has been tapped by the Ceres City Council to perform an audit for Fiscal Year 2022-23.

State law requires cities to conduct an annual financial audit to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.

Deputy Finance Director Sonia Ledezma said that “with a transition between administrations it has been challenging to maintain the day-to-day operations and fully address the occurring issues that we had from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. We’re seeking assistance of a consultant to help close the books for fiscal year 23 and complete a financial audit. It will bring this city into compliance with both state and federal regulations.”

The service will cost an estimated $150,000.
