Ceres Unified School District (CUSD) classified management personnel holding masters and/or doctorate degrees will be compensated.
The Ceres School Board approved the recommendation with a unanimous vote Thursday evening.
“It’s already offered to certificated staff,” CUSD Assistant Supt. of Business Services Dan Pangrazio said. “All we’re doing is adding it to the classified salary schedule.”
Classified management personnel holding a master’s degree will receive an additional $1,000 per year stipend.
Classified management personnel holding a doctorate degree will receive an additional $900 per year stipend.
“It incentivizes getting further degrees,” Pangrazio said.
The salary schedule changes take effect at the beginning of the 2019-20 fiscal year.
“It was a decision that was easy to make and supported by the board of trustees,” Pangrazio said. “We value all of our employees equally.”
The following employees will be eligible to receive stipends if they earn masters and/or doctorate degrees.
• Administrative Assistant II
• Head Start Site Supervisor
• Custodial and Grounds Supervisor
• Campus Safety Officer
• Assistant Director Child Nutrition
