CUSD to host College & Career Family Night
CUSD

The Ceres Unified School District will host a College & Career Family Night on Tuesday, March 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Argus/Endeavor Multipurpose Room at 2555 Lawrence St., Ceres.

The event is designed to equip students and families with information and resources for navigating the path toward higher education and successful careers.

Presentations, workshops, and question and answer panels will cover financial literacy and aid, pathways to two- and four-year colleges, apprenticeship programs, trade schools and entering the military.

Former students who have successfully navigated their educational and career journeys will share insights and advice. High school learning directors will offer guidance to families on supporting students at different stages of their education, from grades 6 through 12.

CUSD believes these sessions will give parents or guardians with practical strategies and resources to help their children thrive academically and professionally.

Students and families can also explore informational tables and engage with representatives from career sectors including city and county services, public safety agencies, healthcare providers, social work organizations, energy sector companies, small businesses, agriculture, manufacturing, and more. Music and interactive activities will round out the evening.

“Whether you’re a student planning your next steps or a parent interested in learning how you can best support your child’s educational journey, the College & Career Family Night offers something for everyone,” said Dr. Paul Rutishauser, director of Secondary Education for CUSD. “This event is designed to empower students with knowledge and resources to pursue their dreams and build successful futures, supported by their families and community.”

Admission to the College & Career Family Night is free and includes dinner and free childcare. For more information, visit www.ceres.k12.ca.us, scroll to “News,” and click “College and Career Family Night,” or visit https://bit.ly/CollegeCareer2024 to register for the event.
