A fire that destroyed a mobile home unit in the Sunrise Village Mobile Home & RV Park on Wednesday evening, Dec. 4, left five adults and four children homeless.
A total of three patients were treated at scene and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
The fire was reported at 6:29 p.m. in the 400 block of South Seventh Street.
Six fire engines, a quint ladder truck and two battalion chiefs were summoned to the blaze for the working structure fire. When the first engine arrived on scene, flames were shooting through the roof and front door of the single wide mobile home.
Firefighters were able to confine the fire to the mobile home of origin and prevent fire from spreading to neighboring trailers.
The Red Cross was requested to help provide shelter assistance for the family displaced by the fire.
