The Keyes Union School District honored retiring board member Bob Edwards on Monday with the naming of the Keyes School gymnasium after him. Edwards is stepping down after serving on the Keyes School Board and the community after 46 years.
His wife Sandra Edwards and family were able to attend the event and able to keep the ceremony a surprise. Edwards participated in the first 8th grade graduation in the gym after it was built.
“Mr. Edwards you are to be congratulated for the role you have played in building young people’s skills, confidence and strength of character,” said Keyes Union School District Supt. Helio Brasil. “Your efforts help put children on the path to achieving their drams. It takes a family of committed people to make as school district successful. As a valued member of that family, you have a lasting influence on students’ lives and future of our nation.”
