A classic 1955 Chevy Bel-Air and a 2023 Ford Ranger pickup sustained major damage during a Dec. 16 crash on Mitchell Road.

According to Ceres Police, the crash occurred at 1:58 p.m. near Colleen Way when the throttle on the southbound Chevy became stuck, causing it to accelerate out of control into the northbound lanes where it struck a 2023 Ford Ranger pickup and a black 2004 Acura TSX. The Ford pickup careened out of control, jumping over the sidewalk, hitting a cluster mailbox and striking a parked 2007 Honda Civic on Colleen Way.

Both the Belair and the pickup were towed from the scene.

The crash resulted in only minor injuries, none of which required a hospital visit. There was delay in the Ceres Police Department getting information on the crash to the Courier.
