State Assemblyman Juan Alanis (R-Modesto) received a Vice Chairmanship and additional committee assignments in the California State Assembly last week. Newly elected to represent Ceres and the 22nd Assembly District, Alanis now serves as vice chairman of the Assembly Committee on Public Safety.
“I could not be happier with the committees the Speaker and leadership assigned to me,” said Assemblyman Alanis. “To earn the Vice Chairmanship on Public Safety is a real honor. I believe I have the real-life professional experience to be a productive and informative voice there.”
The Assembly Committee on Public Safety is one of the busiest committees in the Legislature. Alanis has 28 years in law enforcement and looks forward to bringing that professional expertise to such a significant legislative committee.
“I am also happy to have been seated on the Agriculture and Water, Parks and Wildlife committees,” added Assemblyman Alanis. “These two committees are vital to the 22nd District and the state as a whole.”
In addition to the committees on Agriculture and Water, Parks and Wildlife, Assemblyman Alanis will serve on the Assembly Committees for Budget, Business and Professions, and Human Services. He will also have a seat in Budget Subcommittee #1 on Health and Human Services.
