The Plain White T’s rock band is coming to the Stanislaus County Fair this summer. Left to right are current members Mike Retondo, founder Tom Higgenson, De’Mar Hamilton and Tim Lopez.

The Stanislaus County Fair has booked Grammy nominee rock band, “Plain White T’s” to perform on Monday, July 10 at the Turlock Fairgrounds’ Coors Light Stage. The 8:30 p.m. concert will be free with the price of Fair admission.

Plain White T’s was formed in 1997 by Lombard, Illinois high school friends Tom Higgenson, Davie Tirio and Ken Fletcher and later joined by Steve Mast.

The band had a number-one hit song with “Hey There Delilah,” which achieved platinum status in 2007 and earned two Grammy nominations. The songs “1-2-3-4” and “Rhythm of Love” were also certified platinum in 2009 and 2011 respectively.

Higgenson is the only original band member today. Other members are lead guitar and vocalist Tim Lopez, bass guitarist Mike Retondo and drummer De’Mar Hamilton.

Along the way, the group logged countless miles on the road in front of sold out crowds in nearly every corner of the globe. After a whirlwind tour cycle supporting 2015’s American Nights, the guys hunkered down and began writing the ideas that would eventually comprise Parallel Universe, slated for an August 2018 release.

The 2023 Stanislaus County Fair will be held July 7-16. Discounted Fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the Fair season pass will be on sale beginning Saturday, April 22. Visit www.stancofair.com to find information on fair entertainment, local exhibits and livestock.
