Just “Like This and Like That,” Monica has been contracted to perform at the Stanislaus County Fair. The 39-year-old singer will appear on the Coors Light Variety Free Stage on Friday, July 17 at 8:30 p.m. The concert is free with the price of Fair admission.
“It’s going to be enjoyable for all, as they’ll be appreciating 90’s and early 2000 throwback-hits this summer,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Her R&B cadence is sure going to get the crowd dancing and moving.”
Monica is a Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum artist, $25 million-plus selling singer, actress, philanthropist and entrepreneur. She was born and raised in Atlanta, and began her career at the tender age of 12. She’s the youngest female ever to have two number one back-to-back hits on Billboard’s R&B chart from her 1995 debut album “Miss Thang.”
Her sophomore album, “The Boy Is Mine,” garnered her pop success with a record-breaking 13 weeks at number one on the Billboard charts. Monica’s chart-topping success continued throughout her career with multiple album and single releases.
Monica is the first artist ever to have #1 Billboard singles in three consecutive decades, which puts her in the elite company of history making superstars such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, James Brown, and Marvin Gaye who also had similar accomplishments.
In January 2019, Monica released her first single, “Commitment,” from her anticipated album, Chapter 38. The single marked her chart-topping return to Billboard in a record breaking two weeks, further solidifying her exceptional and long-standing career.
