Whitmore Charter High student Sahej Chandumarjra was honored last week as its “Girl of the Month.”

Chandumjra was honored as a dedicated member of the Whitmore Charter High School Interact Club, where she exemplifies the values of leadership, service, and academic excellence that this award seeks to recognize.

Maintaining an impressive Grade Point Average of above 3.5, Chandumjra has demonstrated a commitment to her education and a pursuit of excellence. Her hard work and dedication are evident in her academic achievements and in her involvement with the Interact Club, where she actively participates in community service projects and initiatives to benefit others.

Sahej is a recent reclassified English Language Development (ELD) student, which makes her accomplishments even more remarkable. She has worked diligently to overcome language barriers and has shown incredible resilience and determination in her academic journey. This experience has strengthened her character and push to succeed in all aspects of her education. 

An entrepreneur at heart, Sahej helps to run a small business with her mother designing and selling Punjabi dresses. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business, showcasing strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. This experience has not only provided her with practical business knowledge but has also fueled her passion for entrepreneurship.

Chandumarjra aspires to attend UC Davis or Berkeley and earn a master’s degree in Business.
