Southwest Ceres home damaged in Wednesday fire

Two persons were displaced from their home on Woodview Drive in Ceres after a Wednesday, June 26 morning fire broke out and caused significant damage.

Modesto and Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department firefighters were dispatched the house fire near Blaker Road and Service Road in Ceres at 5:39 a.m.

Firefighters aboard Modesto Engine 15 arrived to find smoke and fire from a house. A total of 22 firefighters responded and were able to quickly extinguish the fire before it could spread to other parts of the house and nearby structures.

Two occupants were given a California Fire Foundation SAVE card to assist with their immediate needs. The American Red Cross is also assisting the occupants.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit. No injuries were reported.
