Ryan Taylor, one of the youngest members to serve on the Turlock Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees, will serve as its vice president for the 2024 calendar year.
Taylor was first appointed to the board by the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors in June and reappointed on Dec. 19 to a two-year term ending Jan. 5, 2026.
Taylor said it is a great honor and privilege to serve as vice president, adding that “an accomplishment I’m proud of is assisting a customer create a payment plan.”
The Turlock Mosquito Abatement District is in charge of eradicating the pest in Ceres and communities south of the Tuolumne River.
The district is governed by California Mosquito and Vector Control Law along with an eight member Board of Trustees. The trustees are local residents appointed by city councils and the Board of Supervisors. The district is publicly funded and has monthly board meetings that are open to the public. The next meeting of the Turlock Mosquito Abatement District will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at 4412 N. Washington Road, Turlock.
The district provides year around service which includes prompt response to service requests, on-site inspections and mosquito control work as necessary. Mosquito fish are available at the district office.
