Michael Frantz, Director of Division 1 and Becky Hackler Arellano, Director of Division 4, were sworn in for four-year terms on the Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors, ending in December 2028.

TID operates irrigation and power services for Ceres, Hughson, Keyes and Turlock.

Arellano ran unopposed in Division 4, a seat vacated by Rob Santos. She is a former Turlock City Councilwoman and comes from a third-generation farming family and currently farms corn and alfalfa. Arellano is the first woman in TID’s history to serve on the Board of Directors.

Frantz won reelection in Division 1, a seat he has held since 2009. Frantz is president of Frantz Wholesale Nursery, LLC in Hickman and is active on local, statewide, and national boards, including the Nursery Growers Association Board, the Farm Bureau, AmericanHort and the Board of Sustainable Conservation.

Santos represented Division 4 for 17 years beginning in 2007 and opted not to run for reelection in 2024.

The Board of Directors also elected the president, vice president and secretary of the Board. Frantz was elected president and Ceres resident David Yonan, Director Division 2, was elected vice president. Yonan, who represents Ceres on the TID board, was elected in November 2022 and has served as vice president since December 2022.

Joe Alamo, Director of Division 3, was elected secretary of the board. He was elected in 2009.

Ron Macedo, Director of Division 5, served as board president for the past year, and completes the five-member elected Board of Directors.

The president, vice president and secretary terms are effective Dec. 6, 2024 through Dec. 1, 2025.
