Timothy White, a student attending Central Valley High School, was honored as the regional nominee of the “Every Student Succeeding” program.

The award was announced at the end of the March 14 program at the Martin G. Petersen Event Center in Modesto, which recognized 26 local students. White also received a $500 scholarship.

The “Every Student Succeeding” program honors students who have succeeded against challenges, gone beyond expectations, or simply won the hearts of their teachers and other staff.

White has faced numerous challenges in his life but has shown resilience and created a path for a successful future. He attended nearly 10 different schools before finding a stable home. Timothy works hard and was able to go into a less restrictive environment and general classroom. He credits the support from the teachers, clinicians and behaviorist in helping him get into all college preparatory courses. Timothy maintains above a 3.5 GPA in his courses and aspires to become a traveling nurse.

Other local students who were honored included Princess Jaime Anderson of Mae Hensley Junior High School, Princess Janae Anderson of Virginia Parks Elementary School, Danna Andrade of Keyes to Learning Charter School, Christopher Quinlan of Hughson High School and Arely Noemy Morales-Lara of Shackelford Elementary School in south Modesto.

The Stanislaus County event differs from the “Every Student Succeeding” program held by individual school districts, including Ceres Unified School District. The county presentation was sponsored by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), Stanislaus Charter and the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE). Presenting sponsors included E.&J. Gallo Winery and Mocse Credit Union.
