A chapel service was held Tuesday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Areline Smee, 85, of Ceres. She died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Burial was at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Oakdale.
Born Nov. 21, 1920, Mrs. Smee was a native of Tulare and lived in Ceres for 47 years. She previously lived in Oakdale for 22 years. Mrs. Smee worked for PG&E in Oakdale for 13 years and for Baird Photo Service for 23 years. She was a graduate of Oakdale High School. Mrs. Smee was a member of Harvest Presbyterian Church in Ceres, and was a member of the Central California Art League.
She leaves behind her husband, Doyce Smee of Ceres; two children, Cliff Smee and Nonnie Cooper, both of Modesto; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
