A funeral service was held Monday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Clarence Wayne Davenport, 77, of Ceres. He died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004 at Delta Valley Convalescent Hospital in Stockton.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born Aug. 16, 1926, Mr. Davenport was a native of Oklahoma and lived in Ceres for 48 years. He was a mechanic at James River Corp. in Modesto for 30 years. Mr. Davenport was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Turlock. He was an Army veteran, and served from 1946-49.
He leaves behind his wife, Velma Davenport of Ceres; his son, Kim LeWayne Davenport of Modesto; two brothers, Lody Davenport of Hughson and Sammy Davenport of McAlester, Okla.; sister, Elma Stokes of Noble, Okla.; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
