Curtis Hoover Holley
February 4, 1929 – June 9, 2024
Curtis Hoover Holley, son of Grover and Tessie Holley, lifelong resident of Ceres, passed away on Sunday, June 9.
Services to celebrate his life will be Saturday, July 13 at 2 p.m. at Modesto Freewill Baptist Church, 225 E. Orangeburg Avenue, Modesto with lunch and music to follow.
Curtis grew up in Salida until moving to Ceres. Curtis worked for Dr. Pepper as a truck driver and graduated from Modesto Junior College. Curtis then worked as an appliance technician for Dale’s TV until retiring as an owner and operator of Ceres Video. Curt was a member of the Ceres Lions Club and California Bluegrass Association.
Curt’s love of music was the center of ever thing he did. He lived for his next gig and jam session. If you ever met him, it was likely he had a bass and or a guitar in his hand. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting him.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Linda Holley; two sons, Curtis and Christopher Holley; three daughters, Brenda, Becky and Shelia; his brothers, Bobby, Jimmy, Robert; his sister Dianne; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Curtis was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers Delton, Danny and Thomas; sisters Joy, Rene, Wilma, and Lily; sons Rodger and Charlie Holley; and daughters Verna and Sandra Holley.
