A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson for Doris "Boots" Earlene Pike Hoggard, 94, of Roseburg, Ore. The former Ceres resident died Jan. 14, 2012.
Visitation will be at noon Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born Sept. 5, 1917, in Lacy Springs, Ala., Doris moved with her family to Las Cruces, N.M., where she met and married Roy H. Hoggard in 1936. They moved to Ceres in 1970 where they lived until 1989 when Roy passed away. She continued to live in Ceres until 2006 when her son moved her to Roseburg to be close to him and his wife. Mrs. Hoggard was a member of the Whitmore Church of Christ in Ceres. She was a homemaker.
She leaves behind her son, Calvin Leon of Oregon; and four grandsons and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Roy, son Leslie Dean, and a great-granddaughter.
