Jon Bradley Michael Brown

Jan. 4, 1962 – Sept. 4, 2022

Jon Bradley Michael Brown passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Modesto with his wife and children at his side. He suffered from a MRSA infection that quickly led to septic shock and ultimately his body couldn’t fight it any longer. His family and friends are reeling in sadness during this sudden and difficult time.

Jon was born on January 4, 1962 in Turlock to John and Delane Brown, and he was one of six children. He dealt with many health issues as a child and teenager, even almost losing his life at the age of 13 due to appendicitis and pancreatitis. Because of this close call, he’s always been extremely important to his family and especially his mother who Jon cared for until his passing.

Jon was a proud lifelong resident of Ceres and raised all three of his children there. He met the love of his life, Trish, in 1989 and they wed in 1991. She helped raise Jon’s two children J.B. and Alia, and then together they had their third child, Hollie. Jon and Trish enjoyed traveling, laughing and becoming grandparents to their five beautiful granddaughters. Along with his father John and brother Greg, Jon owned and operated their business Modesto Auto Electric for most of his life. He was a brilliant singer and sang in many bands. He and his best friends started local band Remedy and his growling vocals helped gain them many adoring fans over the 20-plus years they played together.

Jon’s passion was caring for and rescuing dogs. He was incredibly generous, welcoming people and pets into his home whenever they needed it. Jon was outgoing and had the uncanny ability to connect and laugh with any person he met, immediately making them feel like they were his lifelong friend. He will be remembered as a loving husband, nurturing father and papa, and a wonderful friend and human being.

Jon is survived by his wife, Trish; his children, Alia Brown, J.B. Brown (Jenny), and Hollie Brown-Bagnall (Morgan); his five granddaughters, Makayla, Makynzie, Frances, Scarlett, and Sasha; his mother Delane Brown; his siblings Jan Scudder (Steve), Greg Brown (Cindy), Jill Reynolds (Carl), Lori Ellis (Chris), and Molly Hill (David); the mother of his first two children, Carol Crum; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ron and Frances Gordon; and countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, very close friends, and his beloved dogs Samantha and Lola. Jon was preceded in death by his father John Brown, his best friend Heidi Brunk, and many of his dogs that he was looking forward to seeing again at the Rainbow Bridge.

A Celebration of Jon’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29 at J-H Ranch, 12713 Sierra View Dr. in Oakdale. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal rescue.
