JoRene Lasiter

JoRene Lasiter passed away on Oct. 11, 2024 at the age of 85.

JoRene was born on April 1, 1939 in Roswell, NM to Joe and Eva Lorene Shelton. She was a resident of Ceres for 75 years. JoRene and her husband Donald Lasiter were married for 67 years. JoRene was known for being a kind, loving, and determined wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a public school teacher for many years as well as a small business owner. She will be greatly missed.

JoRene is survived by husband Donald; their two children, Joni Denton of LaGrange and Don Lasiter of Elk Grove; six grandchildren, Charity Ruth of Lincoln, Devin Lasiter of North Carolina, Nicole Denton of Dublin, Stacey Lasiter of Placerville, Dustin Denton of Sacramento, and Joseph Lasiter of Rescue; and 14 great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at Franklin & Downs Ceres Chapel, 2561 Fifth Street, Ceres), on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Ceres Memorial Park, 1801 E. Whitmore Ave., Ceres, where her final resting place will be.
