Kobi Lee Motsenbocker passed away suddenly on August 9, 2024 at the age of 62.

Kobi was born on March 28, 1962 in Modesto to parents, Bud and Verda Hightman.  She has been a resident of Modesto her entire life.

Kobi was a devoted daughter, mother and wife and always made sure her family was taken care of.  She loved to cook and enjoyed spending her time watching football, traveling and spending time with her Gallo Glass family. She was a huge animal lover and would never turn away a stray cat, her favorite being her kitties, Bug and Bitty. She especially loved purple or lavender flowers. She will be remembered for her creative spirit, her love for life and her ability to make friends everywhere she went.  

Kobi leaves behind her husband of 42 years, DeWayne Motsenbocker “Mots”; her mother, Verda Hightman; her children, Richard DeWayne Motsenbocker, Jr. and Khegan Scarlett Jarrett (Roderick); along with her grandchildren, Steve and Scarlett Jarrett. Kobi also leaves behind her uncles, Verdell Garroutte and Connie Hightman and her in-laws, Robert and Faye Shults-Motsenbocker and her brothers and sisters in-law, Bobby Shults Jr., Sharon Shults, Tina Dammaron, Kenneth Motsenbocker, Robert Motsenbocker (Fran), Donna Shults and Pammy Shults; along with all of her extended family and friends.

Kobi was preceded in death by her father, Bud Hightman and grandparents Oscar and Christine Garroutte and Joe and Georgia Hightman.

Franklin & Downs Funeral Home is honored to serve the Motsenbocker family. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 22 at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Franklin & Downs Ceres Chapel.
