The Neptune Society of Central California is in charge of arrangements for Paulette Yvonne Peck, 59, of Modesto. She died July 31, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
A private ceremony will be held by friends and family in September.
Born Oct. 29, 1948, Paulette was a native of Los Angeles and spent her childhood in California and in Oregon. She raised her son Ken in Ceres while working as a waitress at the Peach Tree Restaurant and going to school; then working as a bank teller for over 20 years with West America Bank in Ceres, Modesto and in Martinez before she retiring due to health problems. She was a member of Orangeburg Avenue Southern Baptist Church of Modesto. Mrs. Peck enjoyed crafts and crocheting, her beloved dog, Maggie and spending time at the ocean. She will be missed by her friends at Mancini Hall lunch-time gathering.
She leaves behind her son, Kenneth Peck of Georgia, now assigned as a Civil Advisor in Iraq; her father, Marion Steinbrook; three sisters, Mary McNamara of Cottage Grove, Ore., Irene Clevenger of Eugene, Ore., and Bobbie Jean Kalouek of Idaho; three brothers, Bill Steinbrook of Yoncalla, Ore., Jeffrey Ramsey of Simi Valley, and Fred Steinbrook of Springfield, Ore.; her caregivers and friends, Kathy and Gary Bulboff; and her grandchildren, Jefferey, Emily and Kaitlin and daughter-in-law Jennifer, of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother, Valerie Steinbrook of Los Angeles.
