Services have been held at Lakewood Funeral Home for Raghbir Chahal, 71, of Ceres. He died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.
Born May 13, 1933, Mr. Chahal was a native of India and had lived in Ceres for 18 years. He previously lived in Modesto for two years. He had been a government officer in India for 30 years and was a member of Sikh Temple in Ceres.
He leaves behind his wife, Mohinnder K. Chahal of Ceres; five children, Kuldeep S. Chahal of Modesto, Kanwaljit S. Chahal of Ceres, Parjit K. Grewal and Rachpal K. Dhillon, both of Modesto, and Baljit K. Bath of Seattle; his brother, Gurdev S. Chahal of India; his sister, Gurdial K. Thind of India; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Parveen K. Gill.
