A graveside service was held Tuesday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Raymond Wayne Glover Sr., 57, of Empire. He died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Born Jan. 8, 1947, Mr. Glover was a native of Modesto, and lived in the Modesto and Empire areas all his life. He was a building contractor for 35 years and owned Glover Construction Co. Mr. Glover was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in South Modesto and the Laborers Union. He graduated from Modesto High School in 1965. Mr. Glover enjoyed playing music and woodworking.
He leaves behind four children, Carrie Sanford of Walnut Creek, Dexter Glover of Modesto, Rayleen Kemp of Brentwood and Raymond W. Glover of Sonora; his mother, Corrine Glover of Empire; two brothers, Ronnie Glover of Jamestown and Jerry Garrett of Ceres; his sister, Alma Dixon of Turlock; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Glover; and one grandchild.
