Ronald “Skip” Smallwood Jr., 64, of Modesto, passed away on Feb. 4, 2025.
Born in Modesto, Skip worked as a truck driver for the past 20 years, dedicating his life to his career and providing for his family. Known for his kindness and generosity, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was beloved by many and earned the title of “Uncle Skip” from people far beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of anyone lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his brother Randy (Sherry) Smallwood; his sister, Robbin Kent Smallwood; and his beloved children, Jimmie Blackwood, Nicole Valencia (Ulysis), and Rashell Shaug (Matthew); along with his cherished grandchildren, Sean, Jimmie, Ulysis, Luke, Elijah, and Vanessa. Skip also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom held him dear.
Skip was preceded in death by parents Ronald and Jimmie Smallwood.
A celebration of Skip’s life will be held at Ceres Memorial Park, on Friday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. All who knew him are welcome to join in honoring this kindhearted, selfless man.
