HTC employees applauded
Editor, Ceres Courier,
I, along with many of the residents who live off Eastgate Boulevard, would like to personally like to thank all the men from Howard Training Center (HTC) who keep the road free of all of the weeds. I see them out there week after week - even in the rain - pulling the weeds and picking up all the trash that people throw from their vehicles. So I - and I live on Giant Oak Lane - would like to thank them for all their hard work.
I used to drive for Storer Transportation and I did take the men and women to HTC so they could get their training that they need to live in the world today.
Again, I would like to thank them for all their hard work.
Brenda Hankins,
Ceres

Thanks to the Ceres Fire Department for quick response to weed fire
Editor, Ceres Courier,
On July 20 while in the house, I smelled smoke. Stepping outside to check, I was shocked to see a billowing cloud of smoke at our fence! The neighbor's dry weeds had caught on fire.
I quickly got the garden hose and sprayed water on the fire while my granddaughter called 911. Fire Station # 1 responded immediately and doused the flames from the burning weeds, plants and blackened fence.
I want to thank the friendly, efficient firemen of station #1 who finished putting out the fire. My dad was a fireman and I know what a great job they do.
Thanks guys!
Don Cunningham,
Ceres

Tyranny is already here
Editor, Ceres Courier,
Tyranny is here and we must recognize it.
Freedom of the press? Really? The new Obama policy requires the press to use government computers, software and transmission lines when writing about data from inside the halls of the Department of Labor.
Property rights? Really? An ice cream stand owner there for 26 years, was shut down in Great Farm State Park, putting people out of work. Why? Because he expanded the stand without a permit.
In Maryland's Montgomery County, bake sales were banned because the state doesn't approve of the food.
Second Amendment? What's that? Hillary wants to turn over U.S. sovereignty to the U.N. to take control of our guns.
Freedom from unreasonable search and seizure? Really? Columbia, Missouri - the Supreme Court approved strip searches for incarceration of unpaid traffic tickets.
FEMA camps and the Department of Homeland Security has a decontamination program that promises round-ups, forced unclothing, detoxification, mandatory vaccines and further detention for dissenters.
$2.18 billion cell phones given to those collecting unemployment. Who pays? You do!
NSA $2 billion Utah Data Center - Its purpose is to intercept, decipher, and analyze anything communicated through any medium, will be the property of the government including the complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls, Google searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails-parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital "pocket litter."Who pays? You do!
If you don't mind tyranny, keep voting for the same people. Or, you can vote for a citizen candidate that isn't rich and well known. Check out GOOOH.com.
