Editor, Ceres Courier,
If we continue on this current path, our federal government, as we know it, will be largely transformed and we all will have to become much more self-reliant.
The government services we rely upon (and frankly take for granted) — whether it is the safety of our airlines and rails, ensuring the safety and security of our food supply and pharmaceuticals, or the administration of critical life-saving care at the Veterans Affairs Department or Indian Health Services — will all no longer exist, setting aside the geopolitical work done at State Department or the national security efforts of the defense and intelligence communities.
The indiscriminate feasting upon ourselves is having the (un)intended consequences of destroying ourselves. Hopefully, key Republicans realize this before it is too late.
