Mae Hensley Jr. High’s wrestling program enjoyed one of its most successful seasons to date this year.
The Warriors won all 10 of their duals.
Mae Hensley finished first at its home tournament and had multiple champions and placers at two other events.
Damian Jackson and Atreyu Banks both claimed three tournament titles.
“This team continued to impress me throughout the season in so many ways,” said Coach Steve Festa. “I challenged them to win our home Mayhem Tournament and they did. I challenged them to be the best team and finish undefeated and they did.”
“We want all of our wrestlers to be winners on and off the mat. I want them all to be remembered for the right reasons.”
The Warriors closed out the 2022-23 campaign by winning 25 of 30 individual matches at Dutcher on March 30 in Turlock.
Mae Hensley accomplished its goal of finishing the season unbeaten versus dual-meet competition.
The Warriors topped Somerset, Salida, Creekside, Ustach, Whitmore Charter, Blaker-Kinser, Cesar Chavez, Turlock, Hilmar and Dutcher.
Mae Hensley finished 9-1 and second at the Mayhem Tournament during the 2021-22 school year.
