Ceres High’s girls soccer team won a pair of games last week.
Central Valley bested one of two opponents.
The Bulldogs extended their unbeaten streak to four games with a 6-2 win against Pacheco on Jan. 30 in Los Banos.
“The teamwork was great,” head coach Rudy Jimenez said. “They had fun.”
“We’ve been on a roll,” he added. “A lot more passing and communication. Everything is falling into place.”
Second-place Ceres High improved to 9-6-2 overall and 7-2-2 in the Western Athletic Conference.
“I’m proud of all of them,” Jimenez said. “We’re just trying to finish the season off strong and make playoffs. We’ve learned from our mistakes.”
Bulldog freshman Sharryah Cabellos scored a team-high two goals versus the Panthers.
Melina Castrejon, Ava Montesdeoca, Evelyn Navarro and Alyssa Santillanes chipped in with one goal apiece.

“The first time we played Livingston, it wasn’t that easy,” head coach Miguel Larranaga said. “They have a pretty solid team. They tied Beyer and Ceres High.”
The Bulldogs (30 points) have a seven-point lead over the Hawks (23 points) in the WAC standings.
“I’m happy,” Larranaga said. “We’re in a pretty good position right now. Most likely, we’re going to be champions of our league. We need to stay focused and make sure we finish strong.”

The Patriots also avenged a 2-0 loss and handed the Hawks their first conference defeat.
“They have a good team,” Larranaga said. “They’re fast. They have a strong defense.”
Tavizon totaled two saves.
The two teams battled to a scoreless tie in the opening half.
Beyer outscored Ceres High 2-0 after intermission.
“Even though we dominated the whole game, we could not score,” Larranaga said. “We couldn’t put the ball in the net.”
